Léa Métrot's background
Léa Métrot is a talented and passionate judo athlete, who started the sport at the age of 4 in Verneuil-sur-Seine. She quickly developed a deep attachment to judo, a discipline she still practises 18 years later. Léa trained at INSEP and won her first French championship title in the U17 cadet and U21 junior categories. She is not only a disciplined, committed and rigorous sportswoman, but also a passionate teacher, passing on her values and experience to her students.
The story of her 2018 victory: This weekend, Léa Métrot (US Verneuil) won the French Champion title in -44kg!
She needed just 30s of fighting in the final to become French champion 2018. At the end of 5 bouts won by ippon, without having conceded any defeat, or even any waza-ari, she won her final on juji-gatame after winning her semi-final in 1min on sankaku-jime. A fine technical palette.
Bravo Léa!
