The ÖKO L3 filter
to survive in the wilderness

Features of the L3 ÖKO ultra-filtering straw

High-performance filtration
Removes up to 99.997% of bacteria, parasites, and protozoa ≥ 0.1 microns in size without chemicals, ensuring better water quality.

Ideal for adventurers and travelers in high-risk areas
Designed for hikers, trekkers, and travelers exploring remote environments or areas with uncertain water resources.

High filtration capacity
Can be used with up to 1, 000 liters of water, offering great autonomy in natural environments. Up to 3,000 liters with rinsing after each use.
How do I use the L3 filter kit with an ÖKO water bottle?
The L3 ÖKO filter is compatible with the 650 ml and 1 liter ÖKO water bottles.
Simply insert the filter straw into the ÖKO water bottle instead of the L2 filter, and drink directly.
It can be used WITHOUT the bottle, as you simply need to immerse the filter in water and suck through the tube!
It becomes a backup system in case you lose your ÖKO water bottle!
The integrated filter system measurably reduces more than 200 pollutants. See the analyses (on the dedicated page) carried out by COFRAC-accredited laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025).

Comparison of ÖKO filters: L3 vs L2

L3 filter: The extreme solution
Technology
Hollow fibers calibrated to 0.1 microns (1/10,000th of a millimeter).
Performance
What is filtered: Bacteria, E. coli, microorganisms, parasites, protozoa, Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium, and other contaminants larger than 0.1 microns.
What passes through: Particles smaller than 0.1 microns.
Recommended for
Robust filtration for questionable water ortravel to high-risk countries.
Check our page on different countries and recommended filtration levels to find out whether the L3 filter will be sufficient or whether additional treatment will be necessary.
L2 Filter: Versatility for everyday use
Technology
Hollow fibers calibrated to 1.2 microns + electro-adsorption (technology developed by NASA).
Electro-adsorption: Attracts negatively charged particles even smaller than 1 micron (viruses down to 0.01 microns), providing ultra-fine filtration across a wide spectrum of contaminants.
Performance
What is filtered:Bacteria, viruses, pesticides, herbicides, E. coli, microorganisms, parasites, protozoa, Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium, chlorine, heavy metals, PFAS, disruptors, and certain particles even smaller than 1 micron (thanks to electro-adsorption).
What passes through: Particles not captured by electro-adsorption (mainly mineral salts)
Key advantage
Balanced filtration suitable for non-potable environments.
Recommended for
Balanced and tailored filtration for everyday use at the tap.
Filtration of non-potable water from sources with low to moderate sedimentationduring travel, hiking, or trekking.
Check our dedicated page to find out if the L2 filter will be sufficient for your trip.
