Unlike fixed-schedule approaches, ÖKO Europe adapts the pace to your usage: it's your daily routine that decides, not an arbitrary rule.

Hardness (explanations)
Water hardness, expressed in °f (French degrees), indicates the amount of calcium carbonate it contains:
0 to 7 °F: Very soft water (low calcium content)
7 to 15 °F: Freshwater
15 to 30 °F: Moderately hard water
30 to 40 °F: Hard water
Above 40°F: Very hard water
👉 The harder the water, the harder the filter has to work to retain limescale and dissolved metals, whichgradually reduces its capacity.
Explanations of the calculation
Our calculator uses official public water quality data, which is regularly updated based on your zip code, and automatically adjusts the filter capacity according to the hardness of your water.
Adjusted capacity (in liters) =
450 – (2.5 × water hardness in °f)

A space-age innovation for your everyday water.
Originally developed for the International Space Station (ISS), ÖKO technology is based on a membrane of alumina nanofibers combined with micropowdered activated carbon.
This combination allows for fast and efficient filtration directly at the tap, without electricity or external pressure.

Due to its nature and size, our ÖKO filter allows dissolved mineral salts (trace elements) to pass through: potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium.

In France, tap water is safe to drink, meaning that it complies with current standards.
But between the treatment plants and your tap, it sometimes travels through old pipes, which may release small amounts of metals (lead, copper, nickel, chromium) or other residues invisible to the naked eye.
Added to this today are microplastics, which are now detected in most drinking water systems in Europe, according to several independent studies.
Analyses carried out by independent COFRAC-accredited laboratories (IANESCO, Eurofins) confirm that the ÖKO filter significantly reduces the presence of these contaminants to levels below the limits of quantification (LOQ)—in other words, undetectable under test conditions.

The filter's performance depends on the initial water quality and strict adherence to the maintenance instructions provided in the manual.

Temperature / Bypass
Filtration ≤ 37°C (cold/lukewarm water) to preserve the membrane.
For hot water: activate the bypass → direct unfiltered flow, ideal for cooking/washing dishes without straining the cartridge.
A one-off incident > 37°C is not critical; avoid repeated instances where hot water passes through the filter. The filtration quality could be impaired.

Made from food-grade PP5 polypropylene.
The material can withstand temperatures of up to 100°C without deformation, allowing hot water (unfiltered) to be used via the bypass.
Flow
The average flow rate is approximately 2 L/min, but it may vary depending on the network pressure (in bars) and water quality.
Contaminated water (e.g., sludge, particles, residue after construction work, or station malfunction) may temporarily reduce the flow rate until the water returns to clear.
Filter life and replacement
The filter is rot-proof and has no expiration date.
Stored in a dry place away from light, it can be kept without deterioration over time.
In use, it provides approximately 450 L of filtered water, or 3 to 6 months depending on water quality and household composition.
For hygiene reasons, ÖKO Europe recommends replacing it every 6 months at most.
➡️ Exceptionally, if the filter is used infrequently, removed, dried, and stored correctly, it can be reused up to one year later.
Warranty
The ÖKO TAP comes with a 2-year legal warranty covering any material or manufacturing defects, in accordance with Articles L.217-3 to L.217-7 of the French Consumer Code and Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code.
Maintenance and mixer tap
Regularly unscrew and rinse the mixer tap to maintain optimal flow.
Clean the outlet grid to remove any visible impurities or particles that may accumulate there.
A removal key is provided to facilitate this operation.
This grid acts as a mechanical pre-filter: it retains the largest particles from the tap water before they enter the membrane.
Periodic cleaning ensures the smooth and long-lasting operation of your ÖKO TAP system, whether the bypass is activated or not.

Pas de désillusion, le dispositif répond à nos attentes au niveau du goût. Nous avons également constaté une absence de calcaire au fond de nos casseroles suite à l'ébullition de l'eau. Et quelle praticité, ça change des carafes lourdes à remplir et garder au réfrigérateur. En ce qui concerne l'efficacité face aux nombreux polluants, nous faisons confiance aux études effectuées par des laboratoires indépendants. Pour le moment TAP c'est TOP 🙂
