The filter's nominal capacity is 378 liters (1 gallon), according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

This capacity is adjusted according to your estimated average consumption.

Reduced service life:

- 2x* faster with lake or river water or with non-drinking water abroad;

- 4x* faster with heavily contaminated water (muddy, etc.)

* This is an estimate, as it depends so much on the quality of the water you choose.

⚠️ If the flow rate decreases or the taste of chlorine returns: Replace the filter immediately.

⚠️ Even with moderate use, the filter should be replaced after 12 months. This is a precautionary measure in view of the possible build-up of bacteria and the loss of activated carbon efficiency over time.

In this area, you must avoid doing just anything or filtering just anything, as this could alter the filter's efficiency.

How to use ÖKO correctly

FILTER ONLY SOFT WATER: No soda, syrup, washing-up liquid or other liquids that could clog pores and impair filtration efficiency.
The videos of influencers and ÖKO EUROPE with liquids other than water are there to show visually that ÖKO filters instantly, DO NOT REPRODUCE AT HOME (under penalty of damaging your filter).
NO SEA WATER: unless you have no choice (mineral salts are not filtered with ÖKO and the concentration is enormous so YES, in case of survival but NO, when you have a choice!
YOUR URINE: in the event of survival, filter your urine. If you don't, it could also impair the filter's efficiency later on.
Clean the gourd thoroughly in hot water, using a brush for the inside. See user manual.
Maintenance is the key to the longevity of your equipment. Treat it with the utmost care, and it will give you satisfaction for many years to come!
Store the open bottle in a dry, temperate place between two extended uses.
If the water has a strange smell or taste: this may be due to filter clogging or saturation: replace the filter.
Keep an eye on the flow rate: a slowdown is often a signal that the filter needs replacing.
For use when traveling or out in nature: if possible, pre-filter muddy water (with a cloth or coarse filter) before pouring it into the ÖKO water bottle.
